In the rare case that you do not know who Patrice Bernier is, he is a professional soccer player, ex-captain and MVP of the Montreal Impact, assistant coach for the Montreal Impact, published author, and TV announcer for the TVA Sports Network. He played across Europe for more than a decade, starting in Norway with Moss F.K. and Tromso, then moving to Germany with Kaiserslautern, then on to Denmark with FC Nordjaelland.
Returning to North America in 2012 to play for the Montreal Impact, now CF Montreal, Bernier won both the Impact MVP and the Impact Communitarian award in the same year. The next year he was invited to play in the MLS All-Star Game and won the Amway Canadian Championship in both 2013 and 2014.
Bernier was named the second team captain in Impact MLS history in 2014 and with his help, the club reach the CONCACAF Champions League final in 2015.
In 2017, after a highly successful career playing professional soccer, Bernier joined the Montreal Impact coaching staff and continued in his leadership role with the team as assistant coach.
In March 2021, Bernier left his coaching position with the Montreal Impact to pursue his new career with the TVA Sports Network as a sports announcer. However, he retains his duties at the Club Academy as post-training supervisor, notably with the Under-23 team.
We look forward to seeing him on TVA and we are honored to have him here on CoachEasy. Feel free to reach out if you would like to inquire about a guest appearance, special event, virtual conference, or if you just want to say hi!
