Valeri Iagolnic – Director & International Team Head Coach
With a coaching career spanning over 50 years, Valeri Iagolnic is one of the most accomplished tennis educators in Canada. A graduate of the prestigious Russian State Academy of Physical Education, Valeri holds the Highest Coaching Category – Grand from the Russian Tennis Federation. His international coaching record includes:
• Head Coach at the Olympic Reserve Tennis School (Moldova) – 10 years
• Vice-President of the Moldovian Tennis Federation
• Head Coach for the USSR Junior National Team at the World Cup (1985), European Cups (1986, 1987)
• Coaching leadership at international championships across Europe, Africa, and beyond
• Founder of Valan Tennis Academy Toronto (2006)
• Tennis Canada Excellence Award (2015) – Coach of a National Champion
Valeri has developed players who became champions at the Orange Bowl (USA), Eddie Herr (USA), Suabo Cup (France), European Cup, USSR Championships, Spartakiad Games, and multiple Canadian and Ontario provincial championships.
Igor Iagolnik – National & Provincial Team Head Coach
Since 2004, Igor has established himself as one of Canada’s top certified coaches, holding:
• Tennis Canada Coach Levels 1, 2, and 3
• Professional Tennis Coach & Competition Coach certifications from the International Coaches Institute (Spain)
• OTA Instructor Certification
A former OTA Men’s Group A #1 player and Top-8 BU18 athlete, Igor brings a balanced blend of technical precision, competitive experience, and modern coaching methodology to the academy’s elite programs.
Mohsen Forovat – High-Performance & Mini-Pro Coach
A certified tennis coach since 2014, Mohsen brings international experience from his years with Uniq Tennis Club (Iran) and his continued coaching role at Valan Tennis Academy. He holds:
• Iranian National Tennis Coach Certification
• OTA Certified Tennis Instructor
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Former Provincial Champion (Iran, 2001)
Mohsen specializes in foundational development and high-energy Mini-Pro training.
Liubov Barysheva – Director of Administration & Marketing
With a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Physics, Liubov leads the academy’s administrative operations, marketing initiatives, and public relations. Her analytical and organizational expertise ensures seamless academy management and an exceptional customer experience.
